About Miami Beach

Overview

Miami Beach is an American city located in close proximity to Miami, Florida. Situated on a barrier island between Biscayne Bay and the Atlantic Ocean, Miami Beach is connected to the nearby Miami City by several bridges over Biscayne Bay. Officially a city of its own since being incorporated in 1915, Miami Beach has a population of nearly 90,000 people. With a large Latin-American influence, the city is culturally and demographically diverse, with approximately half of the city’s population claiming international origin. This is reflected in everyday life, with the Spanish language highly noticeable in shops, conversations and signs around the city.

Miami Beach features a Tropical monsoon climate, with hot, humid and often wet summer periods, and a warm, dry winter season. The city has been one of Florida’s premier resorts for a number of years, with excellent beaches and local attractions. It features a vast array of accommodation options, the best of which are available at superb discounted rates from iHotels Miami Beach.
